Some land appears on both the Biodiversity Values Map and the Native Vegetation Regulatory map, but these maps serve different purposes:
- The Native Vegetation Regulatory map regulates native vegetation clearing on rural land (that does not require planning approval) under the Local Land Services Act 2013 (NSW).
- The Biodiversity Values Map relates to the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme which applies to development proposals (and vegetation clearing in areas covered by certain State Environmental Planning Policies).
